Apostolic Tenets of Faith
We believe that God is the creator and ruler of the universe. (Genesis 1:1 / Isaiah 44:24 / John 1:1-3)
We believe in one, true God. He is eternal; infinite in power and wisdom; Holy in His nature, attributes and purpose.(Leviticus 20:26 / Deuteronomy 6:4 / Isaiah 44:6-8 / Ephesians 4:4-6) We believe in three manifestations (not 3 persons) of the one God as the Father in creation, the Son in redemption and the Holy Spirit working in the lives of his people today. (Isaiah 9:6 / 1John 5:7 / 1Timothy 3:16 / Colossians 2:6-10) We identify with the death, burial and resurrection of Christ through the scriptural mode of water baptism by immersion when we repent and are baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. (Romans 6:3-6 / Matt. 28:19 / Luke 24:45-47 / Acts 4:12 / Colossians 3:17) Water baptism is an integral part of the new birth and salvation experience. Water baptism is inseparable from saving faith and is how we demonstrate our faith in the work of Jesus Christ. (Acts 2:38 / Mark 16:16 / Acts 19:4-6) We believe in the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, subsequent to repentance, with the evidence of speaking in other tongues as the Spirit gives the utterance.(Acts 2:38 / Acts 8:14-17 / Acts 10:44-48) We believe the Church is the living, spiritual body of Christ. The Church functions as Christ would function in the earth, seeking to find lost souls so as to bring them to salvation. Signs, wonders, and divine healing are integral to the Church’s ministry, as they were integral to the ministry of Jesus Christ while he was on earth. (Mark 16:17 / 1Corinthians 6:17-20 / 1Cor. 12:20-27) We believe that saints can live a holy and sanctified lifestyle in this present world by the power of the Holy Spirit.(Titus 2:11-12 / 1Peter 1:14-16 / Colossians 3:3-10 / Ephesians 4:17-24) We believe that all believers should be attached to a local church family that teaches Biblical truth where they can grow in their faith; evangelize their community; have fellowship with other believers, and be equipped to serve. (Eph 4:11-16 / Acts 2:42-47 / Hebrews 10:23-25) We believe that marriage is between a naturally born man and a naturally born woman. Any other form of marriage is not accepted or endorsed by the Scriptures and the Church. (Genesis 2:18-25 / Matthew 19:4-6 / Romans 1:21-32) We believe in the second coming of Christ Jesus to rapture the church and judge the world of sin. Everyone whose name is written in the Lamb’s book of life shall enter into the new heaven and the new earth, but the unbeliever shall receive the second death, which is the lake of fire.(Acts 1:9-11 / 1Thes 4:14-18 / Rev 20-22)
